The Ellipse System uses safe, visible light emitted from a flashlamp to remove unwanted hair from all body sites within minutes.

This Visible light from the flashlamp is guided through a crystal prism to the skin and the hair. Visible hair containing pigment (melanin) absorbs this light and converts the energy from the light into heat. The follicle is heated to a point where it is destroyed and rendered incapable of producing a new hair.

As the treatment relies on absorption of light in the hair pigment the most effective treatment is seen with dark hair. The lighter the skin, the greater the separation is between the hair and the skin colour making treatment easier.
