[How does it work?]

Thread Veins (Telangiectasia)

Telangiectases (spider veins) are tiny red blemishes which often appear in the corners of the eyes or on the surface of the ears and cheeks. These imperfections can be a symptom of an underlying venous disorder. Superficial veins, close to the skin's surface, dilate because of an increased pressure and this allows blood to escape from its normal pathway. They can appear anywhere on the body, but are most commonly seen on the face and legs, especially after exposure to sunlight. They do not in themselves create an increased health risk but they can be disfiguring, especially on the face. The characteristic appearance of spider veins is a "sunburst" pattern of reddish to purplish small veins.
